Description
Government surplus item. Truck was driven around our yard and appears to function as required but overall operating condition is unknown. NOTE: tires and wheels are foam filled and for off-road use only - NOT suitable for highway use. 2006 Western Star Tandem Axle Roll-Off Container Truck with 12.7L Detroit diesel Series 60 engine – Eaton Fuller 9-speed +LO manual transmission – 130254 kms – 12693 hours on meter. Front axle rated 20000 lbs.; rear axles rated 46000 lbs. Langfab hydraulic roll-off system with joy-stick style cab controls and secondary frame mounted controls. Tires have lots of tread remaining but were indicated to be foam filled for off-road use only – replacement recommended. Glass appears to be in good condition. Interior is stained and dirty – driver's seat has plastic covering and when plastic was removed the seat was sticky so new plastic was reinstalled. Various marks; scratches; rust and small dents on exterior – driver's door has visible repair work where mirror is mounted – passenger door may require repairs. Exhaust stack was removed during transport and is included. Roll-off system appears to function and operate as required using either controls – NOT tested under load. All vehicle options were NOT fully tested and some are untested. Item may have outstanding recalls and buyer should ensure they have all necessary permits and licensing to own/operate vehicle. Vehicle has been declared as having previous cumulative damage over $2000. ABS light on dash stays illuminated after vehicle has been running. Expect item to require maintenance; repairs or certification prior to use. See images and YouTube video for more information. Inspection highly recommended prior to placing bids. Buyer required to show transfer of ownership prior to removal – NO exceptions.
